Our Aerial Arts program is designed to give you a solid training on your chosen apparatus. Whether it's Aerial Silks (Tissu), Lyra (Aerial Hoop), or Trapeze, you will learn to soar with our professional instruction and personal guidance. You get the same training as the professionals, at your own pace.
Intro to Aerial Silks teaches students the basics from the ground up. Students learn silks safety and introductory moves that progress into climbs, locks, holds, and basic drops. This class is perfect for a beginners, but also students who want to work on their fundamentals.
Intro to Lyra and Trapeze is perfect for circus arts beginners, Lyra classes cover a variety of manoeuvres, mounts, spins, and poses. The class works on establishing fundamental moves, transitions, and conditioning. By the end, students move on to specialize in one of the two disciplines for future classes.
Pretty much every time I saw the instructor demo something, I thought to myself "No way. I could not do that." Then 5 minutes later I was doing it and it was really inspiring because you were doing things you never thought you'd be able to do.
~ Jen Heeley
I started practicing Circus arts in 2012 with Aerial Silks. I fell in love with it and it was all I wanted to do. I never enjoyed running like a hamster at a gym, and this art form keeps me fit and constantly striving to improve. I joined WCS right as they were opening up. I love teaching and get a huge sense of accomplishment when my students nail a move they've been working on for a while.
I started off as a gymnast and progressed into a competitive national diver. The journey lead me to being a competitive gymnastics coach and pointed me in the direction of Circus Arts.
With years of experience and travel, I have always looked for new ways to bring the Art of Performing to different locations. After traveling around South East Asia the knowledge I obtained had to be placed somewhere. With the inception of the Windsor Circus School, I now have an outlet to share information and productions with my hometown.
Growing up I was a competitive Figure Skater and competed across Ontario/Michigan, in which I developed a love for choreography and movement. In 2012, I earned my Registered Yoga Teacher Certificate, through the Yoga Alliance at the Yoga Loft Windsor which has given me a better understanding of body awareness and its coordination of breath and movement. I was introduced to Aerial Arts around 2012 and fell in love with the art form instantly. With the limited resources to learn this art form in Windsor (before WCS opened), I traveled to Circus schools in Toronto and Michigan to train. I trained on various circus apparatus and have performed locally (Windsor/Detroit). This art has challenged me to find the balance between strength and flexibility and to move fluidly in the air. I love teaching and I’m very proud to see my students progress each week in my classes. I look forward to sharing my passion and skills knowledge with you as I continue my own experience at the Windsor Circus School. See you in the air!
Hi, I'm Amber! My passion for fitness and curious nature led me to the Windsor Circus School where I found a love for aerial silks and acrobatics. Im always up for a challenge and the circus provides an atmosphere in which you can take yourself to new heights... Literally! In a safe, judgement-free, high energy place like the Windsor Circus School, you can really be anything you want to be. From learning how to juggle to swinging on a trapeze, the value in testing new waters and getting out of your comfort zone will show you things you could have never imagined. The feeling of accomplishment you get after tackling a fear or building a new skill will keep you wanting more! Not to mention a workout unlike any other! I encourage anyone curious about the circus to come and give it a try. You'll never know what you are capable of until you test your "limits."

Students ages 14 and up can enroll in Adult classes through semester enrollment or on a drop-in basis. Our adult programming has four semesters per year: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.
SEMESTER ENROLLMENT: This method of registration allows a student to reserve a spot in the same weekly class at the lowest price point. A student must enroll in all dates of the semester.
DROP IN ENROLLMENT (Class Packs) This method of registration allows a student to use individual class credits to register for individual dates of a class. Drop in enrollment is paid for with class credits (Class Packs) that can be purchased individually or in 5 or 10-packs for a discounted price.
Adult class credits can be applied to less expensive classes with the exception of Tier A and B class credits, ie a Tier B credit can pay for a FITclass or Open Gym. Likewise, a Tier A class credit can pay for a FITclass or Open Gym. But a Tier A class credit cannot pay for a Tier B class and visa-versa Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to have the class credit changed. From the date of sale, all adult class credits must be taken within:
If a student has not arrived in class within the first 15 minutes of class, they will not be admitted into the class for any reason. Waitlisted students will be permitted to take the class if space becomes available due to late students. The exception to this rule is Open Gym where students may join anytime it is held. Please see the front desk to sign in to Open Gym. Students who arrive more than 15 minutes late are marked as a “late cancel” and the credit is forfeited.
MEMBERSHIP ENROLLMENT FITpass, FITpass Black, UNLIMITED M2M, and UNLIMITED 12-Month Commitment are all monthly recurring memberships that permit students to attend classes as they wish. The FITpass and FITpass black allow students to attend any FITclasses and Open Gyms they wish as many times as they like. The UNLIMITED M2M and 12-Month Commitment allow students to attend any Tier A, Tier B, FITclasses, and Open Gyms as many times as they wish.
WAITLIST POLICY It is necessary to “opt-in” for emails on your MindBody account to use the waitlist feature for classes. An email will be automatically sent to the email address on your account when you are added to a class from the waitlist. Please keep this information correct and make sure to add email@example.com to accepted addresses in your email to ensure your notification. You may choose to respond to this e-mail, accepting or declining your space on the roster. By utilizing the waitlist feature, you are agreeing to cover the cost of any class in which you are registered. You can be automatically enrolled in the class from the waitlist until 24hrs before the start of class so if you are on one or more waitlists, please monitor your email. If you place yourself on a Waitlist, it is your responsibility to check on your status, and remove yourself if you are unable to attend the class. You will not be automatically added to the waitlist if a space becomes available less than 24 hours prior to class start time. Please feel free to check class roster or contact front desk to see if last minutes spaces have become available. These policies are in effect whether you have been “confirmed” from the waitlist or not- this means that once you are dropped into a class and notified, we do not need any further confirmation from you that you will take the class. If a student has available credits in their account, MindBody will allow them to register for a waitlist without purchasing a credit. If a student does not have available credits, they will be prompted to purchase a credit. If you do not wish to purchase a credit, please contact the front desk who will put you on the waitlist for no charge. If you do purchase a credit but do not get into the class, that credit will remain available on your account until its expiration date.
PREREQUISITES In addition to the minimum age requirement of 14, many adult recreational classes at Windsor Circus School have skill prerequisites. In order to receive approval, please indicate for which classes you would like to be approved and send training or performance videos to firstname.lastname@example.org. Videos should be 2-4 minutes long and ideally show the student moving through skills (ie not just a backbend, but the student getting into and getting out of the backbend, not just a drop on silks, but the student preparing for the drop). Alternatively, attend the intro level class to request approval from that instructor (e.g. Intro to Aerial Silks, Intro to Mixed Aerials, Open Gym, etc.).
FAMILY PACK SHARING Members of the same immediate family (parent, spouse/partner, child, sibling) may share adult rec class packs and credits. They may not share semester enrollments or any other services. To confirm that your accounts are properly set up for sharing, please contact the front desk. Sharing credits does not mean that one family member can register for a class but then another family member can attend in his/her place.
